Tioman Island

About this state

Tioman Island rises from the South China Sea off the Pahang–Johor coast as an east-coast diving and beach paradise of clear reefs, jungle hills, and laid-back resorts. Villages such as Tekek and Juara give the island a lived-in coastal rhythm, while underwater gardens draw snorkellers and divers year-round. Hollywood once nicknamed it a “Bali Hai,” and that dreamy island aura still lingers. Expect ferry arrivals, sandy coves, coral gardens, and evenings that slow to the sound of waves—an iconic Peninsular Malaysia island escape.
