Sultan Abdul Samad Building

The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is KL’s Moorish landmark facing Merdeka Square—copper domes and a clock tower marking the skyline since the late nineteenth century. Built for colonial administration, it later symbolised independence gatherings on the padang. By day, red-brick arches photograph crisp against blue sky; at night, lights crown domes and clock. Pair with the square, heritage walks and the riverfront. One of the capital’s most shot façades—classic cityscape still at the heart of Malaysia’s story.
