About this state
Terengganu State Museum is one of Malaysia's largest state museum complexes, set in landscaped grounds near Kuala Terengganu with galleries on boats, textiles, Islamic arts, state history and the petroleum industry. Traditional houses and outdoor displays turn a visit into more than indoor exhibits, giving context to East Coast craft and seafaring life.
Plan a half-day to move between halls without rushing—craft traditions, maritime heritage and modern energy stories sit side by side. It is a strong cultural stop before East Coast beaches or islands, and helps travellers read the region's past before heading to the sand.
