About this state

Gaya Island is the largest island in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park off Kota Kinabalu, a green expanse of forest trails, snorkel coves and resort shores within easy boat reach of the city. Named for its size and character, it mixes rainforest walks with reef swimming and glimpses of traditional stilt villages along the water. Take a day trip or overnight stay: hike shaded paths, snorkel clear shallows, and cruise past kampung houses on stilts for a fuller Sabah island picture. Expect humid jungle air, turquoise edges and flexible packages that often pair Gaya with neighbouring park islands.
