Clan Jetties

The Clan Jetties are a collection of unique floating villages in George Town, established by Chinese immigrants who settled together based on their clan origins. Built on stilts over the sea, the remaining major jetties include Lim, Chew, Tan, Yeoh, Lee Jetty, and Mixed Surname Jetty. Among them, Chew Jetty is the largest and most famous. Visitors can immerse themselves in the authentic atmosphere of these water villages and enjoy stunning sunset views over the Malacca Strait, making it both a premier photography spot and a living monument to Penang’s immigrant history.
